Download trips now! You can download walking maps for free in PDF format that you can print out at home.

Bergen: became a city during the reign of King Olav Kyrre (1066-93). Until the 1830s it was Norway`s largest city, and at one point during the Middle Ages it was the largest in Scandinavia. Bergen is the capital of western Norway and gateway to the fjords. The best-known attractions are the fish market, Mount Fløien and its funicular, Bryggen, Bergen Aquarium and Troldhaugen, Edvard Grieg`s home.

The proposed round trips are based on the use of your own vehicle. Length and duration vary according to geographical conditions. They are designed to be completed in a single day. Travel time is of course dependent on the time spent walking and other stops.

If you want to take more than one day to complete the trip, excellent overnight facilities are available. Although the trip is based on departure from a given point, one may of course join the route wherever you find it convenient. You may choose to complete a part of the trip or perhaps link up two or more trips.

The walks: The roads/footpaths are especially chosen to suit your needs, i.e. tourists in vehicles who would like a little exercise and want to see the countryside in a simple and safe way. In addition to the maps and information on the tour sheets, the routes are all well marked. Tourists do however undertake the trips on their own responsibility.

The starting point for walks are the marked car parks. The walks vary in time from 1 - 3 hours. Information on this and the walk can be obtained from the walk sheets. The average time given for the walks is based on normal walking pace. Stops and rests are individual and extra time must be allowed for these. Enjoy your walk, you can't do them all in one day!
