Tour 60 - Osterfjord - the roundtrip

Osterfjord, near Bergen, is one of Western Norway’s most beautiful fjords. This journey takes you through this historic landscape, with its cultivated shores, narrow inlets and majestic mountains.

Modalen district: Norway’s second smallest local authority, serving a population of 340. The district is rich in natural resources. You can wander through the historic agricultural landscape, getting a glimpse of mountain farming life in the old days. The district’s main industries remain agriculture and sand quarrying, while hydro-electric power is also vital to the local economy. Modalen district generates 10% of the electricity used in Bergen.
