Tour 23.  Ytre Hardanger - Roundtrips

This trip takes you to the outer reaches of the Hardangerfjord, where it is wider and more open and offers the best view of the mighty Folgefonna glacier on the other side.

 

Kvam district: on the northern side of the lovely Hardangefjord. Its coat of arms rerflects the meaning og the Norwegain word kvam, the head of a valley , in this case the head of Steinsdalen below Tokagjelet. Agriculture is a key industry, particularly fruit-growing and horticulture. The fjord contains several large salmon and trout farms. Tour 23.  Ytre Hardanger - Walks

23A: Nes/Nernæs

near Mundheim on the Hardangerfjord.

Terrain: Road and easy gravel and forest roads

Time: Nes-Nernæs - Grønestølen, about 2 hours.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

23S: Steinskvanndalen.

A walk in mountain area Kvamskogen to Steinskvandalen.

Terrain: Gravel farm road, then path.Steep terrain at start, varied later.

Time: Approx. 3 hours.
