Tour 21.  Hardanger - the roundtrip

This trip takes you through the innermost and perhaps most dramatic parts of Hardanger.

Ulvik district:  Ulvik - (ulv meaning wolf) is one of Norway`s longest-established tourist districts. The warm summers, high sea temperatures, peace and abundant nature have attracted generations of holidaymakers. A major employer and attraction is Norway’s oldest horticultural college, Hjeltnes, founded 1901.

Eidfjord district: right at the head of the Hardangerfjord. Tourist road Rv7, the fastest and most scenic east-west route, traverses the district. The main industries are agriculture, public and private services, electricity supply and tourism.Eidfjord has as many tourist beds as inhabitants, about 1,000.

Granvin district: like the other districts of Hardanger, has the fjord, mountains and beautiful scenery as its backdrop. The district has a flourishing musical life. Traditional building skills are well preserved, and the district has a flourishing musical life. Granvin has produced many famous fiddle players and makers, and a Hardanger fiddle appears on the district arms.
